Oracle Linux 9 CIS Hardening
Oracle Linux is an open source Linux distribution. Oracle Linux is compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and designed for use in server and corporate environments.
Note
This Oracle Linux OS image was built to meet the CIS Framework requirements. It may behave differently from the standard version. The Lynis hardening index of the image is 85.

Get an SSH key pair to connect to a virtual machine (VM).

Create a VM from a public image. Under Image/boot disk selection, go to the Cloud Marketplace tab and select Oracle. Under Access:
- Enter for example
cloud-user
in the Username field. - Paste the contents of the public SSH key file in the SSH key field.
Save the VM public IP address.

Connect to the VM over SSH. To do this, use the
your-user-name
username and the private SSH key you created earlier.
