OpenScaler

The OpenScaler distribution is a server operating system which you can use in all key infrastructure scenarios. It features the following components:

• A-Tune: Auto tuning engine that leverages machine learning to optimize OS configuration and boost performance based on your workload requirements.
• Native lightweight virtualization (StratoVirt) and containerization (iSulad) stack.
• SecPaver: Tool for configuring SELinux security policies.
• Kernel Live Update: Allows updating the OS kernel without rebooting virtual machines or physical servers.
• NFS MultiPath: Allows establishing multiple communication channels between the client and server within a single mount point to improve its performance. To ensure fast failover if a connection fails, the tool will run occasional state checks.
• SysCare: Allows patching a user process without restarting it.

1. Get an SSH key pair to connect to a virtual machine (VM).
2. Create a VM from a public image. Under Image/boot disk selection, go to the Cloud Marketplace tab and select OpenScaler. Under Access:
   • Enter the username in the Login field.
   • Paste the contents of the public SSH key file in the SSH key field.
3. Connect to the VM over SSH. Use the username you provided when creating the VM, as well as the generated private SSH key.
