The OpenScaler distribution is a server operating system which you can use in all key infrastructure scenarios. It features the following components:
- A-Tune: Auto tuning engine that leverages machine learning to optimize OS configuration and boost performance based on your workload requirements.
- Native lightweight virtualization (StratoVirt) and containerization (iSulad) stack.
- SecPaver: Tool for configuring SELinux security policies.
- Kernel Live Update: Allows updating the OS kernel without rebooting virtual machines or physical servers.
- NFS MultiPath: Allows establishing multiple communication channels between the client and server within a single mount point to improve its performance. To ensure fast failover if a connection fails, the tool will run occasional state checks.
- SysCare: Allows patching a user process without restarting it.
- Get an SSH key pair to connect to a virtual machine (VM).
- Create a VM from a public image. Under Image/boot disk selection, go to the Cloud Marketplace tab and select OpenScaler. Under Access:
- Enter the username in the Login field.
- Paste the contents of the public SSH key file in the SSH key field.
- Connect to the VM over SSH. Use the username you provided when creating the VM, as well as the generated private SSH key.
