You can copy and paste an existing widget onto your dashboard.

Copying a widgetCopying a widget

When copying widgets from a dashboard or report, consider the following:

From a dashboard
From a report
  • You can copy widgets from any dashboard tab you have access to.

  • Copying is available for these widget types: title, text, chart, selector, or selector (JS).

  • To copy a widget from a dashboard:

    1. In the left-hand panel, click Dashboards and select the dashboard you need.
    2. At the top of the page, click Edit.
    3. On the dashboard, next to the widget, click → Copy.
  • You can copy widgets from any report page you have access to.

  • Copying is available for these widget types: title, text, chart, selector, or selector (JS).

  • You cannot copy images from a report to a dashboard.

  • To copy a title, text, or chart from a report:

    1. In the left-hand panel, select Reports and select the report.
    2. On the dashboard, next to the widget, click → Copy.
  • To copy a selector from a report:

    1. In the left-hand panel, select Reports and select the report.
    2. At the top right, click .
    3. On the right, in the Selectors window, click .
    4. Next to the selector, click → Copy.

Note

  • You cannot paste widgets with links to objects from another workbook.
  • To use an object in a different workbook, copy all linked objects from the source workbook into the target workbook.

Pasting a widgetPasting a widget

To paste a copied widget onto your dashboard:

Warning

If you use the new DataLens object model with workbooks and collections:

  1. In the left-hand panel, select Collections and workbooks.
  2. Open the workbook you need and select an object.

Proceed with this guide from Step 2.

  1. In the left-hand panel, click Dashboards and select the dashboard you need. If you do not have a dashboard, create one.
  2. At the top of the page, click Edit.
  3. Select the dashboard tab you want to paste the widget onto.
  4. In the panel at the bottom of the page, hold down Paste and drag the widget where you need.
  5. Resize the widget and drag it where you need on the page.
  6. In the top-right corner of the dashboard, click Save.
