In 2017, Kazan Federal University’s Institute of Information Technology and Intelligent Systems (ITIS) launched Smart Education Lab at its software engineering department to work on projects that promote educational development. The lab employed their in-house UniEnv platform. In two months, the lab team rolled out an entire infrastructure with Yandex Serverless Containers and other Yandex Cloud services, managing every step on their own.

The student racing team of the Bauman Moscow State Technical University is one of Russia’s first to design unmanned race cars for international Formula Student competitions. The team trained four YOLOv5-architecture networks in Compute Cloud and selected the one providing fast and high-quality detection. Without any third-party support and over a very short time, they got accurate tools for addressing object detection tasks on the track.
