Yandex Cloud Desktop pricing policy
What goes into the cost of using Cloud Desktop
The Cloud Desktop usage cost is based on:
- Computing resources:
- Number of vCPUs.
- Amount of RAM.
- Disk type and size.
- Amount of outgoing traffic.
In all calculations: 1 GB = 230 bytes, 1 MB = 220 bytes.
The monthly prices are based on 720 hours per month.
Using computing resources
The cost of allocated computing resources is calculated based on how long the desktops were used: from when they get the CREATING (if creating) or STARTING (if starting) status until they are completely stopped. You are not charged for the time during which the desktops were stopped.
A desktop starts automatically once it is created.
Using disks
You are charged for disks whether the desktops are running or not.

Outgoing traffic
When using the service, you pay for traffic from Yandex Cloud to the internet. Traffic between internal IP addresses of Yandex Cloud services and incoming internet traffic is free.
The first 100 GB of outgoing traffic are provided free of charge every month.
The minimum billing unit is 1 MB.

Cost calculation example
Here is an example of calculating the cost of using Cloud Desktop for one month, for a group of 10 desktops with the following configuration:
- Computing resources: 2 x 50% vCPUs and 2 GB of RAM.
- Boot disk: 50 GB SSD.
- Working disk: 30 GB HDD.
- Total operating time of all desktops over the month: 1,000 hours.
Calculating the cost of computing resources:
($0.00664 × 2 + $0.00344 × 2) × 1,000 = $20.160000
$20.160000: Total cost of 1,000 hours of computing resource operation.
Where:
- $0.00664: Cost of using 50% vCPU per hour.
- 2: Number of vCPUs.
- $0.00344: Cost of using 1 GB of RAM per hour.
- 2: Amount of RAM (GB).
- 1,000: Total operating time of all desktops in the group over the month.
Cost calculation for boot disks:
$0.126720 × 50 × 10 = $63.360000
$63.360000: Total cost of boot disk operation.
Where:
- $0.126720: Cost of using 1 GB of an SSD boot disk per month.
- 50: Boot disk size (GB).
- 10: Number of desktops in the group.
Cost calculation for working disks:
$0.034560 × 30 × 10 = $10.368000
$10.368000: Total cost of working disk operation.
Where:
- $0.034560: Cost of using 1 GB of an HDD working disk per month.
- 30: Working disk size (GB).
- 10: Number of desktops in the group.
Total cost calculation:
$20.160000 + $63.360000 + $10.368000 = $93.888000
$93.888000: Total cost of using Cloud Desktop per month.
