Upload image
You can add your own image and deploy a server based on it. To do this, you must first upload your image file to the Yandex Object Storage bucket.
Uploading an image file to Object Storage
Upload your image file to Object Storage and get a link to it:
- If you do not have a bucket in Object Storage yet, create one with restricted access.
- Upload the image to your bucket, for example, using the management console, AWS CLI, or WinSCP. Within the Object Storage context, the uploaded image is called an object.
- Get a link to the uploaded image. Use this link when creating an image in BareMetal.
Creating an image in BareMetal
Create a new image from the link you got in Object Storage:

In the management console
, select the folder to create an image in. -
In the list of services, select BareMetal.

In the left-hand panel, select
Boot images. -
Click Upload image.

Enter a name for the image. The naming requirements are as follows:
- It must be 2 to 63 characters long.
- It may contain lowercase Latin letters, numbers, and hyphens.
- It must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen.

(Optional) Add a description for your image.

Paste the link to the image you got in Object Storage.

Click Upload.
Deleting the image from Object Storage
After creating your image, you can delete the image file from Object Storage. You can also delete the bucket if it contains no objects.
