FAQ and recommendations for restoring services
These recommendations were updated on November 6, 2026, 16:00 (Moscow time). This information is up to date.
Key platform services have been restored, but some are operating with restrictions. You can find answers to common questions and temporary recommendations that will help you restore your resources below.
General
Up‑to‑date information about the operation of the platform and individual services is available to users in the management console.
Yandex Compute Cloud (VM — virtual machines)
You can create new Compute Cloud computing resources, VMs, disks, disk snapshots, and images in wokring zones. If your quotas are insufficient to add something, request an increase from the support service.
You can also use the Yandex BareMetal dedicated server rental service to create computing resources.
NB: you will not be able to transfer VM disk snapshots or Cloud Backup backups to Yandex BareMetal. To transfer data, use methods for transferring data from running VMs to a Yandex BareMetal server at the operating system and application level.
Network
The network connectivity of the ru-central1-a zone with over availability zones and the external network has been restored.
Yandex Cloud Backup
The service is operating normally, but the load on it has increased.
Please note that recovery requires disks matching the original size, quantity, and order as those of the original VM. The size of the backup in the Cloud Backup service is equal to the size of the data stored (after optimizations and compression).
Yandex Object Storage (S3 storage)
-
Install the official AWS CLI client and configure it according to the instructions.
-
Set up
aws configure set default.s3.max_concurrent_requests 20high download parallelism. -
If necessary, use more than one virtual machine with a static IP address to parallelize and accelerate downloads.
-
Run a command to synchronize the source bucket with a location on a local disk, for example:
aws s3 sync s3://source --include "*" X:\destination -
If you have a lot of small objects in your bucket, use the S3 Inventory method to export their metadata in advance. This list will be useful for speeding up downloads, distributing the list across multiple VMs, or simply saving a list of object metadata.
Yandex Cloud Functions and Yandex Serverless Containers
To collect logs, you can configure their export to third-party repositories yourself. Configure a special logger in the function/container code using third-party libraries for your language. Third-party S3 storage can be used.
At the end of each request, you need to perform a forced blocking “flush” of the accumulated logs.
Cloud CDN
Make sure that the resource has caching enabled.
To increase the percentage of cached content and reduce requests to the source, enable origin shielding.
Configure and connect a backup source with a copy of the content to a CDN source group.
If the resource’s operation logic allows for the delivery of outdated content to the end user when the source is unavailable, enable to options.stale option. For a new resource, use ResourceService.Create, and for an existing one, use ResourceService.Update.
Yandex Cloud Video
Download the source file using one of the following methods:
-
In the interface: Select a channel → Video → click ⋯ next to the video → Download. Read more in the instructions.
-
Via the API: Get a temporary link using the Video.GenerateDownloadURL method and download the file via the URL in the
downloadUrlfield.curl \ --request POST \ --header 'Authorization: Bearer <IAM token>' \ --url 'https://video.api.cloud.yandex.net/video/v1/videos/<video_ID>:generateDownloadURL'The link from the
downloadUrlfield is valid for 24 hours.
Yandex Managed Service for Kubernetes®
For such clusters, master hosts have been restored in the ru-central1-a zone. We recommend relocating the master host from the ru-central1-bzone to another available zone. This can be done by following the instructions or by editing the cluster in the management console.
Yandex Logging
Instructions on “Migration from Cloud Logging to Monium”
If logs previously had a retention period (TTL) of more than 14 days, their storage period in Cloud Logging has been extended to 30 days from the moment they are recorded. To get access to these logs, contact the support service.
Yandex Managed Service for GitLab
Data platform
As of November 2, our team will begin restoring the remaining stopped hosts in ru-central1-a where it is technically possible. Clusters in the STOPPED status will not be launched.
If you want to choose the recovery time and order, complete the necessary actions by November 2:
- Hosts are needed: restore them according to the instructions for your service. After restoration, check the data synchronization and application connections.
- Hosts are no longer needed: delete them while taking service limitations into account. Before deleting, make sure that the necessary data is saved and that the remaining hosts are sufficient for the cluster to function.
If the hosts are left unchanged, their recovery will begin on November 2. Once launched, they will be able to fully participate in the cluster’s operation, even becoming a master if the service and configuration support such a role.
Do not delete a host if it contains the only copy of required data. For ClickHouse, OpenSearch, Apache Kafka, local and NRD disks, take the individual scenarios described below into account. If there is no suitable scenario or the operation results in an error, contact the support service.
YDB, Yandex Message Queue, Yandex Data Streams
You can read and write data in all YDB databases, topics, and message queues.
In existing databases, you can create and modify topics using the ydb topic create and ydb topic alter commands. Streams in Yandex Data Streams can be created and configured in the management console according to the instructions.
Queues in Yandex Message Queue can also be created and modified without restrictions. Read the instructions to learn how to create a message queue.
Creating new Dedicated databases in Yandex Managed Service for YDB and modifying their resources are temporarily restricted. If you need a new database, create it in serverless mode according to the instructions. If you specifically need a dedicated database or additional resources for an existing database, contact the support service.
Yandex DataLens
You can make backups of individual workbooks yourself. Workbooks contain descriptions of dashboards, charts, datasets, and connections, but they do not store the data itself. For more information, see this guide.
Connection errors are most often due to data source inaccessibility. If you’re migrating sources to other servers, be sure to open access to DataLens IP ranges.
Yandex AI Studio and SourceCraft models and components
We recommend using the Alice AI LLM Flash, DeepSeek V4.1 Flash, Qwen 3.6 35b models. If you are already using a different model, you should switch to one from the list above. To switch, change model_uri. You can find the right uri for the models above in the documentation.
If you are using dedicated instances, asynchronous mode, or batch runs, you need to switch to synchronous mode on the base instance models.
When publishing an AI agent to messengers and web widgets, we recommend that you monitor its operations in the Loggin section (the Responses tab) in the console.
Security
- Export secrets from Lockbox.
- Export certificates from Certificate Manager. For certificates that support export, you can download both the certificate chain and the private key.
If you did not find the answer to your question in the recommendations, please send a request to the support service or write to your account manager.
