Rocky Linux 9.6

Rocky Linux is an open-source enterprise OS designed to be fully compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux® (RHEL). The OS is actively developed by the Rocky Enterprise Software Foundation.

The image comes with Guest Agent for Google Compute Engine by Yandex Cloud which configures the OS for connections via OS Login.

Deployment instructions
  1. Create a service account with the compute.osLogin or compute.osAdminLogin role.

  2. Enable access via OS Login at the organization level.

  3. Create a VM from a public image:

    • Under Boot disk image on the Marketplace tab, enter Rocky Linux in the Product search field and select Rocky Linux 9.6.
    • In the Access section, select Access via OS Login.
    • Under Advanced, select the service account you created earlier.
  4. Connect to the VM via OS Login.
