The feature enabling you to store GitLab data in Yandex Object Storage has entered the General Availability stage. You can now select data types to offload to object storage, reducing instance disk usage and preventing its overflow. To enable the integration, follow this guide. This feature is billed based on the pricing policy.

Released managed runners for General Availability. You can now automatically deploy and scale VMs with GitLab workers based on the load, customize their computing resources, disks, service accounts, and security groups. For more information on managed runners, see this guide and this tutorial.

There is a fee for using VM instances (workers); see Compute Cloud pricing.

Introduced advanced features for backup management. You can now view the list and manually create backups, use them to restore your current instance or create a new one, download backups and secrets using signed links, as well as delete backups you no longer need.

In the management console, added a notification about the instance’s total disk usage approaching the allowed limit.
Tip
To reduce the risk of disk overflow, enable GitLab data storage in Object Storage.

Added new parameters for GitLab workers created by managed Yandex Cloud runners:
- Security groups for managing worker network access.
- Service account that will be used to authenticate the worker in Yandex Cloud from CI/CD pipelines.

Supported the option to store GitLab data in Yandex Object Storage.

- Added support for GitLab instance management using the CLI, Terraform, and API.
- Implemented an option to select a security group when creating and updating a GitLab instance. For more information, see Configuring security groups.
- Added support for getting information about service operations using the CLI and API.

- Added an option to issue Let's Encrypt TLS certificates via Yandex Certificate Manager. To start using Certificate Manager to issue certificates, contact support.
- Added support for the GitLab Pages feature at the Preview stage.
Fixes and improvements
- Improved generation of the main GitLab configuration file, which reduces the probability of mismatch between configurations.
- Improved automatic GitLab instance updating.

You can now monitor the state of your GitLab instance from the Yandex Cloud management console. You can view the state charts in the Monitoring tab or in Yandex Monitoring. This feature is currently at the Preview stage.

You can now manage GitLab Runner agents using the Yandex Cloud management console. This feature is currently at the Preview stage. To gain access, contact support or your account manager.

On July 1, 2024, the approval rules feature entered the General Availability stage and is now subject to the pricing policy.

Instances residing in the ru-central1-c availability zone can now be migrated to a different zone.

- Added the Yandex ID authentication provider.
