SVZcloud Backup Basic
SVZCloud Backup provides agentless backup for Yandex Cloud VMs and disks. It helps save user data for fast recovery in the event of a crash or ransomware attack.
SVZCloud Backup uses the API and native Yandex Cloud tools for fast and reliable VM backup and recovery. It is agentless and can work with any OS.
Benefits
- Setting up user roles to regulate access.
- Configuring scheduled backup operations based on client policies.
- Calculating approximate backup storage costs per month.
- Restoring a disk or VM to their original state with data and configuration intact.
- Ensuring data integrity when performing hot backup of guest Windows-based apps.
- Restoring an individual file or directory from a disk or VM backup.
- Setting up administrator notifications of backup results by email.
- Running basic operations with VMs both manually and on schedule.
- Running scripts on a guest OS before and after a backup to ensure data consistency for running applications.
- Support for any S3-compatible object storages to store backups.
- More reliable VM and disk backups through keeping them on an external storage.
- Option to select an object storage class in Yandex Cloud to save on the backup storage cost.
- VSS support to ensure data consistency of applications running on MS Windows Server VMs.
Updates to the current version
- Automated parallel backup of multiple disks. Backing up large disks to S3 storages now takes much less time.
- Backup management server configuration saved to a file. You can use this file for recovery if the management VM fails or Yandex Cloud is unavailable. For enhanced reliability, we recommend storing copies in a different availability zone or external S3 storage.
- Management server patching to apply updates without reinstallation.
There are two SVZCloud Backup versions available in Yandex Cloud Marketplace: Basic for backups of up to 10 VMs, and Enterprise, for up to 50 VMs. The version for backing up more than 50 VMs may be provided upon request.
