SVZcloud Backup Basic

SVZCloud Backup provides agentless backup for Yandex Cloud VMs and disks. It helps save user data for fast recovery in the event of a crash or ransomware attack.

SVZCloud Backup uses the API and native Yandex Cloud tools for fast and reliable VM backup and recovery. It is agentless and can work with any OS.

There are two SVZCloud Backup versions available in Yandex Cloud Marketplace: Basic for backups of up to 10 VMs, and Enterprise, for up to 50 VMs. The version for backing up more than 50 VMs may be provided upon request.

Deployment instructions
  1. Create service account with roles: storage.editor, compute.editor, vpc.publicAdmin, vpc.user, vpc.securityGroups.user on a catalog and resource-manager.clouds.member and quota-manager.viewer on a cloud.
    Save its ID.
  2. Create an authorized key for the service account. Save the ID and private key.
  3. Get an SSH key pair to connect to a virtual machine (VM).
  4. Create a VM from a public image:
  • Under Image/boot disk selection, go to the Cloud Marketplace tab and select SVZCloud Backup Basic.
  • Under Disks and file storage, enter 20 GB as your disk size.
  • Under Computing resources, specify:
    • vCPU: 4
    • RAM: 8 GB
  • Under Access:
    • In the Service account field, select the previously created service account.
    • Enter the username in the Login field.
    • Paste the contents of the public SSH key file in the SSH key field.
  1. Open https://<VM_public_IP_address>/ in your browser.
  2. Follow the installation steps via the web interface.
