Custom installation is a self-managed GitLab installed on a server or local computer. Below we discuss the custom installation of GitLab Community Edition.
Managed Service for GitLab supports approval rules, while Community Edition does not. Approval rules provide an alternative to the Approval Rules tool in GitLab Enterprise Edition.
The custom installation is installed and administered manually. It is more costly compared to Managed Service for GitLab support. Service administration offers the following benefits:
