Custom installation: GitLab installed on a server or local computer (self-managed GitLab). Below we discuss the custom installation of GitLab Community Edition.
Managed Service for GitLab supports approval rules – a feature not supported by the Community Edition. Approval rules provide an alternative to the Approval Rules tool in the GitLab Enterprise Edition.
The custom installation is installed and administered manually. It is more costly compared to Managed Service for GitLab support. Service administration offers the following benefits:
