Neuroanalyst in Yandex DataLens
Yandex DataLens Neuroanalyst is a group of AI assistants that help you with project analysis, suggest improvements and edits, and streamline creating and editing visualizations.
- Neuroanalyst for creating calculated fields helps composing formulas and answers questions regarding them.
- Neuroanalyst on your dashboard analyzes both the dashboard as a whole and its individual charts. Neuroanalyst on your dashboard works in agent mode: to answer a question, it can pick a similar chart or build a new one based directly on the dataset. You can add widgets with insights from Neuroanalyst to your dashboard.
- Neuroanalyst in Editor helps you write and debug code for visualizations and answers questions about the code.
- Neuroanalyst in your report analyzes charts in it. You can add widget with insights from Neuroanalyst to your report.
- Neuroanalyst in mailing lists analyzes and summarizes mailing list content.
Data security and processing

Neuroanalyst is powered by the cloud service called Yandex Cloud AI Studio.

Your data and queries stay within the Yandex Cloud infrastructure.

Your data and queries are not used for model fine-tuning.

You can ban the use of Neuroanalyst and insight widgets at various levels: for the DataLens instance as well as separate dashboards and reports.

Banning the use of Neuroanalyst
All DataLens users can use Neuroanalyst by default. Any user with the datalens.admin role can disable this option at the DataLens instance level or for individual dashboards/reports:
- In the left-hand panel, select Service settings.
- Select the Security tab.
- Disable Neuroanalyst (on by default). As soon as you do it, the AI assistants will disappear from the DataLens interface for the instance users. Widgets with insights will stop working on dashboards and in reports.
- In the left-hand panel, click Dashboards and select the dashboard you need.
- In the top-right corner, click Edit.
- At the top of the screen, click . The settings window will open on the right.
- In the settings window, disable Neuroanalyst (on by default).
- In the top-right corner, click Save.
The AI assistant will now become unavailable for this dashboard, and the added widgets with insights will stop working.

In the left-hand panel, click Reports and select the report.

At the top right, click Report settings. The settings window will open on the right.

In the Other settings section, disable Neuroanalyst (on by default).

In the top-right corner, click Save.
After that, the AI assistant will become unavailable for this report, and added widgets with insights will stop functioning.
Setting up a custom prompt
In DataLens, you can set up a custom prompt for AI. To do this, follow these steps:

Click Settings in the navigation panel on the left to open the settings.

Go to the AI settings tab.

Click Edit.

Enter a prompt in the text field and click Save.
With each request to the AI, the custom prompt will be added to the DataLens system prompt.
