Getting started with video hosting in Yandex Cloud Video
Note
The service is at the Preview stage.
To upload a video to a service channel:
- Prepare your cloud.
- Create a channel.
- Upload a video.
- Publish your video.
- Check if the video is available.

Prepare your cloud
- Go to the management console
and log in to Yandex Cloud or sign up if not signed up yet. - On the Yandex Cloud Billing
page, make sure you have a billing account linked and it has theACTIVE
orTRIAL_ACTIVE
status. If you do not have a billing account yet, create one. - Open the Cloud Video home page
. - Select the organization to work with Cloud Video in or create a new one.

To turn Cloud Video on, request access from the home page
. You can also request access from support. - Make sure you have the minimum role,
video.editor
, in the organization.
Create a channel
- Open the Cloud Video home page
. - Click
Create a channel. - On the channel creation page, enter:
- Name.
- (Optional) Description.
- Click Create.
Once the channel is created, you will find yourself inside it on the
Upload your video

In the
Video tab, click Upload video. -
Click Select file on the upload page and choose the video you want to upload.
You can download videos in the following formats: MP4
, AVI , MKV , FLV , and MOV . You can download videos either one by one or several at a time.Cloud Video limits the resolution of the videos you are publishing.

Name your video. The title will be displayed on all the resources hosting the video.

In the Access field, set the access permissions for the video:
Users with permission
: Video will be available to users authorized in your organization.All users
: Video will be publicly available.

Optionally, to add a cover for a video, in the Thumbnail field, click
Select file and choose a cover image.The following cover formats are supported: JPG
, PNG , and GIF . -
Click Save.
Publish your video
In the video settings window that opens, wait until the video is completely uploaded, processed, and gets the Ready
status. The Public access
field value will change toPublished
.
By default, all videos are published after uploading, changing their status to Published
.
If you want to unpublish a video, disable the Grant access option. The Public access
field value will change to Unpublished
and your video will become unreachable via links.
Check if the video is available

On the video settings page, select the
link
tab under Past code. -
Click
Copy.With Cloud Video Player SDK for IFrame, you can specify additional video player management settings and video playback parameters for the HTML page, such as video size and looping, volume, etc.

Open a new browser page and paste the obtained URL to the address bar.

Click the Play button.
