To mark up metadata, you can:

Assigning domainsAssigning domains

You can assign domains to all metadata.

Management console
  1. In the management console, select the resource folder you created the metadata catalog in.
  2. Select Yandex MetaData Hub.
  3. In the left-hand panel, select Data Catalog.
  4. In the list that opens, select the metadata catalog.
  5. In the left-hand panel, select Metadata search.
  6. To assign a domain to a single object:
    1. Click in the row with the object and select Set domain. If the domain is already assigned and you need to change it, click Edit domain.
    2. Select the required domain from the list in the pop-up window and click Save.
  7. To assign or change a domain for multiple objects:
    1. Select the required objects in the column on the left.
    2. On the panel below, click Set domain.
    3. Select the required domain from the list in the pop-up window and click Save.

Tip

To search for a term, tag, or domain, enter its name or description (fully or partially) in the search bar above the list in the pop-up window.

Note

With the metadata AI markup on, the AI assistant automatically creates domains and uses them to mark up your metadata. You can confirm, edit, or reject the domains suggested by your AI assistant by hovering over the AI icon next to the suggestion and selecting the action.

You can enable the AI markup when updating the metadata catalog or on its Overview page.

Changing termsChanging terms

You can change terms for all metadata.

Management console
  1. In the management console, select the resource folder you created the metadata catalog in.
  2. Select Yandex MetaData Hub.
  3. In the left-hand panel, select Data Catalog.
  4. In the list that opens, select the metadata catalog.
  5. In the left-hand panel, select Metadata search.
  6. To add or change terms for a single object:
    1. Click in the row with the object and select Edit terms.
    2. Select the required terms from the list in the pop-up window and click Save.
  7. To add or change terms for multiple objects:
    1. Select the required objects in the column on the left.
    2. On the panel below, click Edit terms.
    3. Select the required terms from the list in the pop-up window and click Save.

Tip

To search for a term, tag, or domain, enter its name or description (fully or partially) in the search bar above the list in the pop-up window.

Note

With the metadata AI markup on, the AI assistant automatically creates glossaries and terms and uses them to mark up your metadata. You can confirm, edit, or reject the glossaries and terms suggested by your AI assistant by hovering over the AI icon next to the suggestion and selecting the action.

You can enable the AI markup when updating the metadata catalog or on its Overview page.

Changing tagsChanging tags

You can change tags for metadata, as well as domains, glossaries, and terms.

Management console
  1. In the management console, select the resource folder you created the metadata catalog in.
  2. Select Yandex MetaData Hub.
  3. In the left-hand panel, select Data Catalog.
  4. In the list that opens, select the metadata catalog.
  5. In the left-hand panel, select Metadata search.
  6. To add or change tags for a single object:
    1. Click in the row with the object and select Edit tags.
    2. Select the required tags from the list in the pop-up window and click Save.
  7. To add or change tags for multiple objects:
    1. Select the required objects in the column on the left.
    2. On the panel below, click Edit tags.
    3. Select the required terms from the list in the pop-up window and click Save.

Tip

You can confirm, edit, or reject the classifications and tags suggested by your AI assistant by hovering over the AI icon next to the suggestion and selecting the action.

Changing metadata descriptionsChanging metadata descriptions

Management console
  1. In the management console, select the resource folder you created the metadata catalog in.

  2. Select Yandex MetaData Hub.

  3. In the left-hand panel, select Data Catalog.

  4. In the list that opens, select the metadata catalog.

  5. In the left-hand panel, select Metadata search.

  6. Click the object of interest in the list.

  7. To edit the description of an object with a type intended for metadata markup (tag, term, classification, glossary, domain), click and select Edit.

    To edit the description of an object of a different type, click Edit on the top panel.

    To edit the description of a table column (Dataset object type), go to the Schema tab, click in the row with the column name, and select Edit.

  8. Enter the description and click Save changes.

Note

If the metadata AI markup on, the AI assistant creates AI descriptions automatically. You can confirm, edit, or reject the descriptions suggested by your AI assistant by hovering over the AI icon next to the suggestion and selecting the action.

You can enable the AI markup when updating the metadata catalog or on its page, Overview.
