Getting started with Yandex Managed Service for YTsaurus

To get started with Managed Service for YTsaurus:

  1. Create a demo cluster.
  2. Open the YTsaurus web interface.

Getting started

  1. Navigate to the management console and log in to Yandex Cloud or sign up if not signed up yet.

  2. If you do not have a folder yet, create one:

    1. In the management console, in the top panel, click or and select the cloud.

    2. To the right of the cloud name, click .

    3. Select Create folder.

    4. Give your folder a name. The naming requirements are as follows:

      • Length: between 3 and 63 characters.
      • It can only contain lowercase Latin letters, numbers, and hyphens.
      • It must start with a letter and cannot end with a hyphen.

    5. Optionally, specify the description for your folder.

    6. Select Create a default network. This will create a network with subnets in each availability zone. Within this network, a default security group will be created, which allows connections to resources over SSH and RDP, incoming traffic over ICMP, and any outgoing traffic.

    7. Click Create.

  3. Assign the following roles to your Yandex Cloud account:

    If you cannot manage roles, contact your cloud or organization administrator.

Create a demo cluster

Note

Creating a YTsaurus cluster takes a long time.

  1. In the management console, select the folder where you want to create a Managed Service for YTsaurus cluster.

  2. Navigate to Managed Service for YTsaurus.

  3. Click Create cluster.

  4. Select Demo cluster to create a cluster with the minimum operational configuration.

  5. Under Basic parameters:

    1. Give the cluster a name. The name must be unique within the folder.

    2. Optionally, enter a description for the cluster.

    3. Optionally, create labels:

      1. Click Add label.
      2. Enter a label in key: value format.
      3. Press Enter.

  6. Under Network settings, select:

    • Availability zone for the cluster.

    • Subnet.

    • Security group for the cluster’s network traffic. This is an optional setting.

      Warning

      Once your cluster is created, you cannot change its availability zone, subnet, or security groups.

    • Optionally, in the Incoming traffic limitations field, specify allowed IPv4 address ranges, in CIDR format, for accessing the cluster from the internet, e.g., 203.0.113.0/24.

      For a single IP address, use the /32 mask, e.g., 203.0.113.10/32. Leaving this field empty allows unrestricted internet access. These restrictions do not affect access from Virtual Private Cloud.

      You can update the list after you create the cluster.

  7. Under Cluster configuration, view the cluster configuration parameters.

  8. Click Create.

  9. Wait until the cluster is ready: its status on the Managed Service for YTsaurus dashboard will change to Running. This may take a while.

Open the YTsaurus web interface

You can manage YTsaurus through the web interface. To use the interface, you need the managed-ytsaurus.user role or higher. To get started with the YTsaurus web interface:

  1. In the management console, select the folder containing the cluster.
  2. Navigate to Managed Service for YTsaurus.
  3. Open the YTsaurus web interface page.
