  • Getting a load balancer's FQDN
  • Enabling a load balancer

In Managed Service for MySQL®, you can use a DB Proxy load balancer that automatically distributes queries across database hosts based on their role and availability.

Note

This feature is at the Preview stage. Contact support for access.

You can:

  • Get a load balancer's FQDN.
  • Enable or disable a load balancer

Getting a load balancer's FQDNGetting a load balancer's FQDN

Management console
  1. Navigate to Managed Service for MySQL.
  2. Click the cluster name.
  3. Copy the value into the Load balancer FQDN field.

Enabling a load balancerEnabling a load balancer

Management console
  1. Navigate to Managed Service for MySQL.

  2. Select the cluster and click Edit in the top panel.

  3. Under DB Proxy, enable DB Proxy balancing and specify replica-level load balancing settings under Port settings:

    • Lag: Maximum replica lag, in seconds. If this lag is exceeded, the replica will not be included in balancing.
    • Balancing policy: Method of query distribution across cluster replicas. For more information, see Balancing policies.

If you no longer need the load balancer, disable DB Proxy balancing following the same steps.
