Elasticsearch versioning policy
Warning
Yandex Managed Service for Elasticsearch is unavailable as of April 11, 2024.
You can create an OpenSearch cluster in Yandex Cloud as an alternative to Elasticsearch.
By updating to the latest versions, you get new features, revisions, and bug fixes.
Managed Service for Elasticsearch always supports multiple Elasticsearch versions. Support for new versions is added as they are released.
Each supported Elasticsearch version is tested thoroughly. This is why, when you update versions, the integrity and availability of your cluster data is not affected.
Version support policy
Each Elasticsearch version supported in Managed Service for Elasticsearch remains available as long as it is maintained by the vendor (usually, 18 months after the release date). For detailed information about the EOL (end of life) for individual versions, see the vendor's maintenance tables
Update policy
A Managed Service for Elasticsearch cluster running an outdated Elasticsearch version is automatically updated with the most up-to-date and stable maintained version.
Note
Users get notifications about scheduled automatic updates both one month and two days before the EOL of the Elasticsearch version run by the clusters.
When your Elasticsearch version approaches its EOL, we recommend that you update the cluster to a newer Elasticsearch version.
