Some Yandex Cloud services offer special plans where certain amounts of services are provided free of charge. These are selected to enable you to develop and launch a small service, website, or application, or try out the service features.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate. The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Note

Free tier applies to billing accounts. If multiple organizations or clouds are linked to a billing account, the tag counts all the resources they consume.

For example, Cloud-1 and Cloud-2 are linked to a billing account. Cloud-1 has consumed 500,000 function calls, and Cloud-2 600,000 function calls a month. For function calls, free tier is 1,000,000. This is our calculation of the number of billable function calls:

(500,000 + 600,000) - 1,000,000 = 100,000

Yandex API Gateway

Yandex API Gateway is an API gateway management service supporting OpenAPI 3.0 and extensions for compatibility with other cloud services.

The first 100000 requests to API gateways each month are not charged.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Cloud DNS

Yandex Cloud DNS is a DNS zone and domain name management tool for your resources.

You do not pay for:

  • First 1,000,000 recursive DNS queries each month.
  • Queries to internal and service zones.
  • Queries for domain names of Yandex Cloud services — both from VMs and from the internet.
  • Service zones.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Cloud Functions

The Yandex Cloud Functions service allows you to run your applications in a secure, fault-tolerant, and scalable environment without creating or maintaining VMs.

The following initial amounts are offered free of charge each month:

  • 1000000 function invocations.
  • 10 GB×hour of function execution.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Cloud Logging

Yandex Cloud Logging allows you to read and write logs of services and user applications by grouping messages into log groups.

You get the following at no charge every month:

  • First 5 GB of data logging.
  • First 1 GB of data storage.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Cloud Postbox

Yandex Cloud Postbox is a transaction email service.

You get the first 2,000 outbound emails at no charge every month.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Compute Cloud

Yandex Compute Cloud provides scalable computing capacity to create and manage virtual machines. The service supports preemptible VMs and fault-tolerant instance groups.

You do not pay for:

  • Time the VM was turned off
  • Use of the Instance Groups component
  • vCPU and RAM of VMs running on a dedicated host

Yandex Container Registry

Yandex Container Registry is a service for storing and distributing Docker images.

You get the following at no charge every month:

  • First six vulnerability scans of different Docker images.
  • Six subsequent vulnerability scans of any Docker images.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Data Processing

Yandex Data Processing assists in deploying Apache Hadoop® and Apache Spark™ clusters in a Yandex Cloud infrastructure. The cluster size, node capacity, and selection of Apache® services (Spark™, HDFS, YARN, Hive, HBase®, Oozie™, Sqoop™, Flume™, Tez®, Zeppelin™) are all up to you.

Hive Metastore clusters are not charged.

Yandex Data Streams

Yandex Data Streams is a scalable service that allows you to manage data streams in real time. Data Streams continuously collects data from various sources, including web browsing history and application and system logs. The service API is compatible with the Amazon Kinesis Data Streams API.

You get the first 744 hours of data storage and data stream maintenance with the following characteristics at no charge every month:

  • Segment write speed: no more than 128 KBps.
  • Message retention period: 1 hour.
  • Number of data units written per month: no more than 2 million.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Data Transfer

Yandex Data Transfer enables logical data transfer between sources and targets. DBMS, object storage, or message brokers can be used as sources and targets.

You get the first 100,000,000 transferred strings at no charge every month.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex DataLens

Yandex DataLens is a business analytics service. It allows you to connect to various data sources, visualize data, create dashboards, and share your results.

The Community plan is not charged.

Yandex Foundation Models

Yandex Foundation Models provides large generative models for businesses. Yandex Cloud offers the YandexGPT Lite, YandexGPT Pro, and YandexART neural networks for your business apps and web services.

In the management console, new users without a billing account have access to models for testing:

  • YandexGPT Lite and YandexGPT Pro: 10 free requests per hour.
  • YandexART: 10 free requests per day.

Yandex IoT Core

Yandex IoT Core is a cloud-based fault-tolerant MQTT server that ensures secure two-way communication between devices and local or cloud resources.

The first 100000 messages each month are free of charge.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Load Testing

Yandex Load Testing allows you to perform load testing to analyze the performance of your services and applications.

You get the following at no charge every month:

  • Up to 50 first hours of testing.
  • Up to 600 first hours of test results storage.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Managed Service for YDB

With Yandex Managed Service for YDB, you can deploy and maintain YDB databases in the Yandex Cloud infrastructure.

You get the following at no charge every month:

  • First 1,000,000 operations (in Request Units).
  • First 1 GB/month of data storage.
  • Storing automatic backups (two full backups of your DBs for the last two days).

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Message Queue

Yandex Message Queue is a universal, scalable solution to enable messaging between applications. You can use well-known and familiar tools to work with Message Queue, since its API is compatible with the Amazon SQS API.

The first 100000 queue requests are free of charge every month.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Monitoring

Yandex Monitoring is a tool used to collect and store metrics and also present them as charts on dashboards.

You get the following at no charge every month:

  • Recording automatically collected Yandex Cloud resource metrics.
  • Reading metrics via the Monitoring interface and Yandex Cloud console.
  • Recording the first 50,000,000 metric values via Prometheus Remote API.
  • Reading metric values via Prometheus Remote API.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Object Storage

Yandex Object Storage is a universal scalable solution for data storage. It is equally effective for high-load services requiring reliable and fast access to data as well as for projects that do not need any complex storage infrastructure.

Standard storage resources are provided free of charge every month:

  • First 1 GB of storage per month
  • First 10,000 PUT, POST, PATCH, and LIST operations
  • First 100,000 GET, HEAD, and OPTIONS operations

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Query

Yandex Query is an interactive, fully managed service for data engineers and analysts. The service enables real-time analytical and streaming queries to structured and partially structured data using a common SQL dialect.

You get any amount of read data under 10GB at no charge every month.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Search API

Yandex Search API is a service that allows you to query the Yandex search database and get responses in XML format. Yandex Search API is tailored for developers and webmasters, helping them to implement the search feature on individual websites, groups of websites, or across the internet. Additionally, it offers features to monitor website ranking for specific queries in Yandex search results.

You get the first 1,000 night time requests at no charge every month.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex Serverless Containers

Yandex Serverless Containers allows you to run containerized applications in a secure, fault-tolerant, and scalable environment without creating or maintaining VMs.

The following is offered at no extra charge each month:

  • The first 1000000 container invocations.
  • The first 10 GBxhour of RAM usage when processing requests.
  • The first 5 vCPU×hour of RAM usage when processing requests.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Yandex SmartCaptcha

Yandex SmartCaptcha can tell human system users from computers.

You get the first 250,000 requests to the SmartCaptcha API at no charge every month.

Yandex Smart Web Security

Yandex Smart Web Security protects your infrastructure against DDoS attacks and bots at the application level (L7).

Every month, you get the first 10,000 legitimate requests processed by WAF and security profile rules at no charge.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

Yandex Tracker

Yandex Tracker is a management service for your projects and processes.

You can connect up to 5 users to Tracker at no charge.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

Yandex Virtual Private Cloud

Yandex Virtual Private Cloud is used for managing cloud networks and enabling cloud resource connections to each other and to the internet.

You get the following at no charge each month:

  • First 100 GB of outgoing traffic.
  • First 100 GB of outgoing traffic via the NAT gateway.

After you spend the free amount of services, you will be charged at the applicable rate.

The unused balance of free services is reset at the end of the month.

Examples of cost calculations with free tier

Usage cost is calculated based on the pricing plans of the relevant service and does not include the amount of services provided for free. See the examples below.

Calculation of function usage cost

Example of calculating the cost of a function that has:

  • Memory specified when creating the version: 512 MB
  • Number of function calls: 10,000,000
  • Execution time of each call: 800 ms

$0.049230 × ((512 / 1,024) × (800 / 3,600 / 1,000) × 10,000,000 – 10) + $0.144000 × ((10,000,000 – 1,000,000) / 1,000,000)

Total: $55.503700

Where:

  • $0.049230: Price per 1 GB×hour.
  • 512 / 1,024 converts MB to GB, as execution time is calculated in GB×hour.
  • 800 / 3,600 / 1,000 converts milliseconds to hours, as execution time is calculated in GB×hour.
  • 10,000,000: Number of function calls.
  • 10: Subtracted because the first 10 GB×hour are free of charge.
  • $0.144000: Price per 1 million function calls.
  • 10,000,000: Number of function calls.
  • 1,000,000: Subtracted because the first million calls are free of charge.
  • 1,000,000: Divisor to calculate the number of millions of function calls.

Calculation of API gateway usage cost

Let's assume you created an API gateway that has processed 10,000,000 requests over HTTPS.

This is what this API gateway will cost you:

$1.080000 × ((10,000,000 – 100,000) / 1,000,000) = $10.692000

Where:

  • $1.080000: Price per 1 million API gateway calls.
  • 10,000,000: Number of requests over HTTPS.
  • 100,000: Subtracted since the first one hundred thousand calls are free of charge.
  • 1,000,000: Divisor used to calculate the number of millions of requests over HTTPS.

Calculation of Yandex IoT Core usage cost

According to the pricing policy:

  • 100,000 messages are free of charge.
  • 900,000 messages come at $1.036833 per 1 million messages.
  • 3,000,000 messages come at $0.936000 per 1 million messages.

The cost is calculated as follows:

900,000 / 1,000,000 × $1.036833 + 3,000,000 / 1,000,000 × $0.936000

Total: $3.741150
